Quantifying the Data Gap in Telecom Operators’ Physical Network Records
Telecom operators are committed to autonomous networks, but every automated decision is only as reliable as the physical network data underneath it. IQGeo commissioned a survey of 500 telecom decision-makers to measure the gap between network records and what is actually in the ground.
Key findings include:
- Only 13% of operators say 76 to 100% of their physical network records are accurate and up to date
- 53% expect fully autonomous operations before 2030, yet half still manage records across multiple systems
- 49% say field changes take several days to a week to reach the system of record
- 90% of operators require field photos, but only 11% of photos and reports are audited on average
