HR Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager to join a small team on a full-time basis. Within our AIM-listed, high-growth, global technology business we have identified an emerging need for HR delivery across key areas: generalist HR and organisational support, employee relations, career development, administration, on-boarding/off-boarding, benefits, office management, policy, compliance, and health and safety. You would support technology and industry experts, software developers and engineers, and both local and remote salaried professional staff in various countries.

Reporting to the US-based Head of HR, this role is based in our Cambridge headquarters and provide support to our offices and staff in the US (Denver and Salt Lake City), Frankfurt, Tokyo, and Canada. Current key initiatives to be worked on include deploying a Share Option scheme, moving the company to a carbon-neutral footprint, and leading graduate/apprentice program.

  • Ensuring compliance and administration of employee records
  • Employee on-boarding, off-boarding, and employee life-cycle support
  • Manage HR platform, accuracy, metrics, reporting, and analytics
  • Drive career development initiative, tracking, reporting
  • Benefits administration and delivery
  • Drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) carbon-neutral initiative
  • Employee relations, responding to queries, resolving issues
  • Recruiting management/agency coordination/requisition tracking
  • Office/facility support, local employee event planning
  • Training delivery for compliance, tracking, reporting
  • Assist with compliance, GDPR, privacy and other requirements

Required skills and education 
  • Mastery of most of the transactional HR functions, including payroll, benefits, admin, ER, training, development, facilities, recruiting, compensation, coaching/counseling
  • Confidentiality and sensitive information management, experience with public/listed company is helpful
  • Ability to “shift-gears” between tactical and strategic work in high transactional environment
  • Building trust and cooperative relationships with managers, staff, finance, executives
  • Education reflecting relevancy in field, technology industry experience helpful
  • High EQ, calm under pressure, and a pragmatic approach to delivering HR service
  • Experience in international employment law helpful (Germany, Switzerland, Japan, US, Canada)
