Sales Director – Telecom

Telecom is constantly challenged to provide safe and reliable service, while operating in highly competitive markets. Operational leaders are continually making real-time decisions that can have huge budgetary and customer service implications - managers coordinating equipment, parts, and crews, and field teams trying to solve problems and capture new information.

An IQGeo solution will aggregate data from the telecom’s enterprise systems to create actionable information – information that will enable operations staff to make informed decisions quickly. A simple, smart map-based interface enables engineering and operations teams to collect and share up-to-date information across the enterprise, speeding up decision making, improving network reliability, and reducing the cost of delays and errors.

We are seeking a high energy, ambitious Sales Director to lead growth into the US telecom service provider market. The Sales Director will be responsible for go-to-market strategy and direct sales of our enterprise geomobility solutions into new telecom accounts, as well as growing business in our existing accounts, working with the IQGeo engineering and marketing teams to bring them to market.

  • Cold call into greenfield accounts.
  • Develop prospects through LinkedIn and other social platforms.
  • Nurture early customer engagements.
  • Aggressively generate new leads and opportunities in the target market utilizing best practice methods.
  • Manage and close deals focused on software licenses and M&S, with vision for a multi-year relationship.
  • Qualify prospects and leads to identify relevant business opportunities in telecom and related markets.
  • Create and execute account plans and strategies (we use the ValueSelling Framework®) to close new business.
  • Present comprehensive business solutions, including customer returns on investment and negotiate terms at senior levels of the customer’s organization.
  • Accurately forecast sales revenue, based on in-depth understanding and sound judgment, taking into account revenue recognition implications.
  • Achieve the agreed sales target.
  • Extensive domestic (>50%) and some international travel (greatly reduced during COVID-19).
  • Excellent complex and strategic selling skills are essential, since the primary target is large enterprise-size companies.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Prepare RFP responses and strategy.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned. 
Required skills/abilities
  • Over 5 years of experience closing enterprise Software, SaaS, or PaaS deals.
  • Proven record in selling enterprise software into the North American telecom market.
  • Direct experience with and established executive-level relationships at key telecom companies.
  • Experience and knowledge of planning and engineering, field operations, and construction in a telecom context.
  • Comfortable addressing business and technical managers both on an individual level and in groups.
  • Understand mobility concepts in a field work environment.
  • Geospatial experience.
  • Understanding of telecom networks.
  • Strategic sales skills to manage large complex and global accounts.
  • A technical grasp in order to add value to customer discussions and translate product strengths into business benefit.
  • Highly articulate and persuasive.
  • Will have the gravitas, charisma, and knowledge to be credible in complex discussions and negotiations.
  • A very high level of personal drive and motivation, focused on results.
  • A willingness and desire to get involved in the sales activity at every level.
  • Denver-based, may consider working remotely from manageable home location.
  • US citizenship.

Education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university in Engineering, Business, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience closing enterprise Software, SaaS, or PaaS deals.
