Senior DevOps Engineer

IQGeo is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support our Web and Mobile Software engineering and implementation efforts for domestic and international enterprise customers. Our Engineering team, co-located in Denver, CO and Cambridge, UK, are responsible for design, development, delivery, and support of our geospatial products. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will work across and closely with the Engineering team to ensure server environments are configured, built and running smoothly. The role is expected to be capable of working independently, and as a team member, and should have working experience with DevOps methodologies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design and implement Product Engineering’s Azure and AWS environments
  • Support and maintain Azure and AWS containerization/orchestration
  • Support and help expand CI/CD environment
  • Explore, propose, and POC new Azure and AWS capabilities
  • Coordinate penetration testing, code/virus scanning, and disseminate findings to development team for resolution
  • Work with QA team to expand performance, load, and scalability tests
  • Manage and track changes to system infrastructure as code
  • Deploy applications via automation with configuration management tools
  • Measure performance and environment of application with system and application log tools
  • Liaise with Product Engineering to ensure technical alignment and that best practice approaches as well as industry and internal standards are being used
  • Assist Delivery team with customer’s technical design solutions
  • Coach Delivery team to adopt DevOps methodologies and support their DevOps efforts

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with management tools like Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
  • Experience running systems both in public cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) as well as private data centers
  • Experience with bug tracking tools, CI/CD tools, automation scripting languages, and code repositories
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of time

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • At least 6 years related experience required
  • US citizenship or permanent residency required
