Senior Technical Project Manager – German language required

The Senior Technical Project Manager supports our web and mobile mapping software delivery efforts for domestic and international enterprise customers. This role joins a dynamic team that enjoys working with complex applications and products that utilize software, GIS, engineering and problem-solving skills. As an integral part of the IQGeo geospatial project delivery team, the successful candidate will be a key leader on teams responsible for implementing IQGeo products to our customers in Utility markets. The candidate is expected to be capable of working independently, and also as a team member, and should have a working knowledge of software development and implementation methodologies.

Supervisory responsibilities
  • Recruit, interview, and train new staff
  • Oversee the daily work of assigned project teams
  • Mentor direct reports and assigned project team members
  • Partner with other project and department managers to set and communicated priorities
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Responsibilities
  • Own the success of all assigned projects, including adherence to scope, schedule and budget
  • Plan and execute implementation delivery projects from proposal creation, work effort estimation, and contract definition through project completion and acceptance
  • Partner with Sales team and Account Managers to establish and maintain positive and long-term customer relationships
  • Manage project risks, issues and decisions and facilitate resolution of all conflicts, escalating to management where required
  • Maintain strong problem-solving skills, providing consulting to clients based on current operational processes and their fit with IQGeo products
  • Support clients’ IT infrastructure and security design and troubleshooting
  • Write project and technical documentation
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned
Required skills

Essential

  • This role needs German language fluency to support key customers
  • Demonstrated strong technical project management and consulting background. in general software engineering skills
  • Excellent technical capabilities in the area of web/mobile application development
  • Experience with Linux system architecture/administration and supporting network architecture
  • Solid risk management and conflict resolution skills
  • Project and/or team management experience as candidate will be responsible for project delivery and need to produce monthly status and financial reports
  • Experience with enterprise software deployment lifecycles

Desirable

  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems or web mapping
  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS technology (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite)
  • Experience with mobile application development (iOS, Android, Windows)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and HTML design and development
  • Experience with utility industries

Education and  experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of technology and industry experience

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
