IQGeo (AIM: IQG), a developer of geospatial software that is “Building better networks” for telecom and utility operators, is pleased to announce that one of the largest tier 1 cable telecom operators in the US has selected the IQGeo Network Manager Telecom software to replace its legacy network inventory system. The expanded contract with this existing customer positions the IQGeo software as a strategic technology for the long-term growth and management of their combined full fiber and Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) network. The new 3-year contract has a value of more than $2m that includes IQGeo cloud hosting services.

The ability to support both full fiber and HFC system architectures is a compelling capability for this customer and opens a new market opportunity for IQGeo to replace aging systems within other large cable operators globally. The IQGeo solution delivers an end-to-end network model that consolidates network applications with a single unified solution. The open and flexible architecture of the IQGeo software also enables the integration of other business-critical data streams to support the entire network lifecycle.

The long-term relationship with this customer included the deployment of IQGeo’s mobile solution for field crews and contractors and software support services. The new contract was awarded as part of a competitive bid process and represents a significant expansion of the IQGeo software footprint as they sunset the use of their legacy network inventory software, replacing it with Network Manager Telecom.

Jay Cadman, Senior Vice President, commented; “The expanded contract with this tier 1 customer is a major milestone in our relationship and IQGeo’s ability to support both fiber and HFC networks allows us to approach other cable operators with our unique solution. Many of these large operators are using network inventory systems designed decades ago and this customer is leading the industry in replacing theirs with our modern software that creates a single shared foundation for their network technology stack. Our purpose-built fiber and HFC network model and open integration capabilities will streamline workflows across planning and design, construction, and maintenance to create greater efficiency and agility for their entire business.”
