Written by Steve Tongish, CMO at IQGeo | 20 July 2023

Partnerships, technology, and connections

The IQGeo EMEA Meetup 2023, took place in Ghent, Belgium on June 29th and brought together a diverse community of IQGeo and Comsof Fiber customers and partners. The goal of the event was to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and exploration of the latest trends and technologies in the fiber industry. With a focus on innovation and best practices, the Meetup provided a valuable platform to learn from experts, network with peers, and gain valuable insights into the application of geospatial technology in fiber rollouts. Read on to discover my three key takeaways from the event.

1. Emphasizing the value of our partner ecosystem
We’ve always known how valuable the technology ecosystem is to all the stakeholders, but this was clearly demonstrated throughout the Meetup activities. Partners from across Europe traveled to the event, showcasing their commitment to collaboration and delivering comprehensive solutions to our customers. The meetup provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how our partner network is rapidly developing to meet increasingly complex customer requirements.

We had the privilege of hearing presentations from qualified partners like NetPMD, who shared their inspiring journey that began in March 2023. Starting small in Q1-2022, NetPMD quickly scaled up their operations, impressing customers with their agile approach and ability to deliver fast results. Using our Comsof Fiber automated planning software, they successfully designed 300,000 homes passed in 59 markets across five US states for their customers. NetPMD now offers end-to-end design services, including data procurement and validation, desktop design, field survey management, and detailed construction drawings.

Their journey exemplifies the determination and adaptability of our partners in meeting customer demands and industry trends. The strong turnout of partners from various domains, such as service, technology, and deployment, delighted us, as these partnerships provide valuable expertise that complements our offerings and benefits our customers.

2. Innovation and product evolution at the IQGeo EMEA Meetup
A prominent theme at the IQGeo EMEA Meetup was the impressive evolution of IQGeo's product line. Over the past few years, IQGeo has transformed its offerings into a comprehensive, end-to-end solution, particularly tailored to the needs of the fiber industry. The integration of our Comsof Fiber software into Network Manager Telecom has played a pivotal role in this progress.

Presenter: Jonas Verstuyft, Fiber Product Manager, IQGeo

At the core of IQGeo's product line lies our Integrated Network solution, underpinned by Network Manager Telecom. This lifecycle strategy encompasses various products, including Comsof Fiber (Planning and Design), Project Manager and Construction Manager (for Construction), Workflow Manager (for Operations and Maintenance), and Network Revenue Optimizer (for Sales and Marketing). These products work together to provide an integrated and streamlined experience for IQGeo's customers.

Presentations from experienced customers such as Proximus, UPP, and Deutsche Giganetz demonstrated how these organizations are leveraging crucial components of the Integrated Network strategy. Their adoption of IQGeo's solutions reaffirms the value and relevance of our evolving product line, solidifying IQGeo's position as an industry leader.

3. The power of face-to-face relationships
Despite the advancements in technology, the IQGeo EMEA Meetup 2023 served as a powerful reminder of the enduring value of face-to-face interactions. The event provided an important platform for building meaningful connections, fostering both business and social engagements.

Welcome reception at the picturesque St Peter's Abbey, Ghent

Attendees had the opportunity to forge new relationships, find common ground with industry colleagues, and benefit from valuable networking opportunities. The importance of first-hand insights into IQGeo's innovations was matched by the chance for participants to expand their own networks and consult with experts in the field. The meetup successfully cultivated a vibrant atmosphere where technology, people, and solutions seamlessly converged.

IQGeo EMEA Meetup: where diverse talents and expertise converge to create something greater

The IQGeo EMEA Meetup 2023 in Ghent surpassed expectations, leaving a lasting impression on its attendees. It showcased the power of partnerships, the impressive evolution of IQGeo's product line, and the enduring value of face-to-face connections. But beyond the specific highlights, there is a broader takeaway that we can all embrace.
As we reflect on the IQGeo EMEA Meetup 2023, let us remember the importance of fostering thriving ecosystems, where diverse talents and expertise converge to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Let us harness the power of continuous evolution, adapting and refining our products and solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

And perhaps most importantly, let us cherish the value of face-to-face connections in a digital world. In an era where technology often bridges the gaps between us, there is an irreplaceable magic in gathering together, sharing experiences, and building genuine relationships. The IQGeo EMEA Meetup 2023 reminded us of the significance of these personal connections, the shared moments of inspiration, and the invaluable insights gained through direct interaction.

As we move forward, let us carry the spirit of the IQGeo EMEA Meetup with us. Seek out partnerships, support innovation, and prioritize human connections. Together, we can create a future that is not only technologically advanced but also deeply rooted in the strength of our collective endeavors.
