Having a [single] platform that everyone can pull up on their desktop or mobile without having to get into local servers was an immediate benefit to the group. Another aspect that has been very helpful is the mobility of IQGeo, configuration changes are much, much easier than on our previous system.

Goal was to improve network data and reduce locator costs by maintaining a comprehensive list of ExteNet assets across the network and manage OSP splicing designs of fiber networks as part of a complete construction process. ExteNet needed a software solution that integrated with existing company systems, was easy to use, reduced the number of applications being used, and could be accessed at anytime from anywhere, online or offline.
The ExteNet team can now create a locate field picklist to quickly identify routes that they weren’t responsible for, cutting down on locator costs. This enables the team to identify numerous route segments that all had the same third-party owner and allowed the database administrator to update all those records in the table at one time. Ability to do corrections to data on the desktop and on mobile devices is very quick and has made field tasks much easier, saving time and resources, while improving network data quality.
