Up to 20% of your installs are failing at activation. Here's how to fix that before the technician leaves.
The main challenges that we saw always stem from safety. We want to make sure that our staff are safe, but also that we're producing quality work. I've been doing this for a long, long time and we were still seeing the same mistakes. And what visual AI has allowed us to do is really, really make an impact on reducing a lot of the errors or people trying to take shortcuts on site. So it really, really has helped us eradicate a lot of either poor quality workmanship or people not working to the standards that we expect. Everyone, well, every company wants AI all over the world and they want it to come in and be transformational. We realized really early on that this needs to be a whole company approach and not just in the UK, across the globe. We are invested in it from the top down, from the bottom up. If you want significant change, if you want transformational change, you have to do things that will be transformational. Well, our partnership with IQGeo actually began over four years ago. And as a business, we've been investing heavily in AI proof of concepts to try and enhance and develop our business. Probably the standout success story in that has been our partnership with IQGeo, particularly with digital evidence field capture. Every day we take over 70,000 photographs on the engineering work we do. Our clients require it. We require it to check safety in the field. And throughout that time IQGeo has given us the interactions with our systems and our processes to allow that to be done effectively. Interestingly, over the last quarter, we passed one million photographs in three months and we're right at the beginning of the journey. There's massive opportunities for us to industrialise what we've already built as a very strong foundation over the last four years. In the next year, I think the challenge is with IQGeo and ourselves to take the power for visualisation and building data models and checking photography in the field from the IT teams and divest that back into the operational specialists who are best placed in the field. We are the people who are best placed in order to decide what is effective digital evidence in the field and that is the goal and the vision over the next two years.
Only 10% to 15% of fiber customer installations are verified today. Undetected defects, manual data entry errors and incomplete documentation mean up to 20% of installs fail at service activation, triggering costly truck rolls, delaying revenue and risking day-one churn. The Service Activation Agent validates 100% of installations automatically at the point of work, catching issues on-site before the technician leaves.
The agent also processes your existing installation photo library from day one, delivering immediate value without waiting for new field captures.

Low validation coverage leaves most installs unchecked before activation
Defects discovered at activation trigger truck rolls and delay revenue
Manual proof-of-work processes slow contractor closeout and payment
Every customer installation validated, not just the 10% to 15% reviewed today
Issues caught before the technician leaves the customer premises
Validate correct equipment, installation standard and configuration
Structured, auditable evidence captured and stored for every job
Link payment to verified proof of completed, conforming work
Reduce truck rolls and day-one churn through earlier defect detection
The Service Activation Agent validates installation readiness before a customer is connected. It analyzes photos captured during the activation visit, verifies that all installation requirements are met and flags issues for correction before the technician leaves the premises.
By automatically checking 100% of activation photos against defined quality standards, the agent catches installation errors that would otherwise cause a failed activation or early service fault. Issues are identified and corrected on site before the customer is connected.
The technician receives immediate feedback through their field application. They can correct the issue on site and resubmit the photo for re-validation before completing the job. The corrected result is recorded in the work order.
The agent extracts and records ONT and gateway serial numbers, MAC addresses, equipment make and model, installation compliance status and photo evidence, automatically populating work order fields and reducing manual data entry.
The agent integrates with existing field applications via API and connects natively with IQGeo Lens and IQGeo Workflow Manager. It is designed to fit into the activation process without changing how technicians work.
Yes. Requiring photos and validating them are different capabilities. Most operators require installation photos today but review only a small sample manually. The agent validates every photo automatically at the moment of capture, not as a back-office sample check.
IQGeo's Service Activation Agent validates 100% of customer installations automatically.
Catch defects on-site. Accelerate closeout. Reduce truck rolls.
