We wanted to leverage AI to empower our technicians, certainly not to replace them. For Unit-T, it’s all about finding the optimum blending of humans and technology. We were impressed with the ease of IT implementation from a deployment perspective. Usually, it can take a bit of time to develop a new AI model, but we are able to do it in one week with Deepomatic Lens.

Unit-T faced two critical challenges: technicians’ photos of smart meter installations were often blurry, leading Fluvius to request costly and time-consuming revisit operations (sometimes taking up to two weeks), and only about 15 % of installations were manually quality-checked—leaving the majority unverified. They needed a solution to ensure consistent, high-quality documentation and reduce repeat visits.
By integrating Deepomatic Lens into their FSM app, Unit-T saw a significant increase in the number of compliant operations. Real-time quality control shortened the feedback loop, allowing technicians to correct issues immediately on-site. Over time, technicians also became more proficient at taking clear, accurate pictures, further boosting the efficiency and reliability of smart meter installations.
