Highlights from Deepomatic Home Run 2025: AI in action for telecom

The third edition of the Deepomatic Home Run took place in Paris on October 15, bringing together more than 100 leaders from major telecom network operators at the Salons de l’Hôtel des Arts & Métiers. The annual event is a unique gathering dedicated to transforming network management using visual AI technology in field operations. Executives from across Europe, including the United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, Germany and Greece, joined alongside IQGeo colleagues for a day of insightful presentations, collaboration, and innovation.

This 2025 edition was particularly special, as it marked the first Home Run event since Deepomatic’s acquisition by IQGeo, providing the perfect opportunity to introduce IQGeo’s vision to the Deepomatic community and reaffirm the shared commitment to the future of visual AI.

Business continuity for telecom operators using AI

The day opened with a speech from Augustin Marty, SVP AI solutions at IQGeo. He reaffirmed the ongoing commitment of the IQGeo team to providing outstanding customer support and maximizing the value of visual AI. Augustin also highlighted the visual AI software complements and extends the IQGeo product offering, stressing the fact that the acquisition positions IQGeo as a world-class network management solution provider.
Richard Petti, CEO at IQGeo, followed Augustin with IQGeo’s vision for helping network operators build self-managing and self-updating network models, accelerating speed, quality, and operational efficiency across their organizations and throughout the network lifecycle.

IQGeo’s advancing journey in visual AI

Aloïs Brunel, VP Product AI at IQGeo, took the stage to share exciting product news:
  • The expansion of Deepomatic Lens’ offline capabilities, allowing field engineers to document their work and obtain instant feedback about their tasks anywhere, regardless of connectivity access.

  • The ongoing development of NetLux AI, a specialized GenAI model trained on broad telecom & utility datasets, to allow customers to set up their visual AI project faster and with more flexibility.

Overcoming challenges in visual AI implementation

The Home Run event also served as a forum for sharing real-world experiences. Some of the industry’s most innovative telecom operators took the stage to discuss the challenges and successes they encountered while deploying visual AI in their fiber operations.

David Tomalin, CityFibre Group CTO, stressed the importance of driving cultural change across all levels of the organization (from field, back-office, to top management) when deploying such a transformative technology. Gerd Bogaerts, Program Manager for Operations at Unifiber, shared how refocusing on high-value use cases and resolving integration issues helped boost adoption across his company.

A roundtable featuring speakers from Swisscom, Wyre, Unifiber and Unit-T , moderated by Clara Saslawsky, Implementation Manager for Deepomatic Lens, highlighted the critical role of contractor engagement. Panelists discussed the need to clearly communicate the benefits of visual AI to contractors, such as faster payments and fewer disputes, and to create a collaborative quality assurance model where contractors actively participate using AI data.

The session explored important questions about how best to leverage AI generated data and how to take control of AI processes, rather than being led by technology. Baudouin De Jenlis, Customer Success Director, shared practical examples of how operators can use visual AI insights for quality management, infrastructure monitoring, asset inventory management or invoicing validation to transform AI data into a strategic decision-making resource.

Beyond field operations: Using AI to re-engineer telecom operations

Closing the day, Mark Kinlen, VP of Technology Architecture at Liberty Global, provided a broader perspective on AI’s role across the telecom ecosystem. He showcased Liberty Global’s plans to integrate AI into the very core of their business efficiency initiatives by using large language models and agentic AI in customer interactions and employee management.

The 2025 Deepomatic Home Run successfully demonstrated that AI in field operations is not just a concept, it’s a reality driving measurable ROI for network operators worldwide and how AI forms the foundation for the proactive networks of the future. As IQGeo continues to innovate, its mission remains clear: to empower telecom and utility organizations with intelligent, self-improving networks that redefine operational excellence.
