Requirements

Chelmsford City Council (CCC) has taken a bold step by declaring a state of climate and ecological emergency, setting their sights on achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. In their quest to create a comprehensive heat network, the council is determined to identify viable areas, buildings, and energy sources. However, they face the challenge of not only formulating a credible vision but also inspiring support from a wider range of stakeholders and the community.

Results

Through a collaborative approach and leveraging Comsof Heat, the study successfully identified desirable and feasible areas, connected buildings, energy demands, and optimal routes for Chelmsford's heat network. This comprehensive analysis showcased the effectiveness of Comsof Heat in assisting Michelle Wright, Energy and Contracts Manager at CCC, in effectively conveying possibilities, cultivating confidence, and offering invaluable insights for engaging discussions on the path to achieving a sustainable and low-carbon city.
