Solutions Engineer, EMEA

The Solutions Engineer will use their technical expertises to demonstrate how our solutions can resolve the client’s requirements. To accomplish that, Solution Engineers must try to understand the customer’s challenges and requirements through conversations with the customer’s technical team, matching those requirements with the right combination and configuration of our solutions.

Responsibilities

The Solutions Engineer supports the sales and account managers team to drive new orders and customer retention by:

  • Pro-actively engaging in the sales cycle and take charge of the technical aspects and deliverables during the potential customer’s product evaluation.
  • Meetings with customers early in the development cycle to fully appreciate and understand the problem the customer is trying to solve.
  • Define and implement appropriate demonstrations to fulfil the customer’s needs.
  • Work with the sales lead to ensure that presales is based on the appropriate solution and product edition, steering the customer towards Out of the Box functionality whenever possible.
  • Confidently presenting these to the customer at the appropriate level
  • Represent the company at trade shows and conferences.
  • Play an active role in the introduction of new products into the market.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the IQGeo product and speak with prospects and customers about the most relevant features/functionality for their specific business needs
  • Support Sales with client business case development, as applicable.
  • Work with delivery teams on implementation technical estimates, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering on identification and tracking of product improvement requests
Person Specification

Essential

  •  Build up and maintain expert knowledge on IQGeo software usage in order to have a thorough understanding of the technical scope of the scale.
  • Ability to build demonstrations to present to the customer (end users, technical experts, IT experts, senior management).
  • Knowledge/experience with telecom networks, primarily fiber networks, is highly desirable.
  • Utility domain knowledge, primarily electricity networks, is a plus.
  • Excellent listening and oral and written communication skills; the ability to articulate technical solutions and how they can solve customer's business problems to all audiences from the very technical to non-technical.
  • Ability to build client relationships based on interpersonal skills. Enjoying to work closely with customers to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. A hands-on problem solver, with ability to think on your feet and change approach as required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential.
  • Any of the following language skills are highly desirable: French, German, Arabic.
  • Being open and flexible with regards to time management and willing to travel throughout Europe and occasionally to North America, Africa, Middle East and Asia.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired 

  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and HTML design and development.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Bash, Docker
  • Experience with SQL and RDBMS technology (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite).
  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) or web mapping is helpful.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Safe Software’s FME.
Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering or Technical subject.
  • Preferred 3 years' experience in a customer facing role in a software/networks organization, preferably working with enterprise sized customers.
  • Preferred 5 years of technology and industry experience.
